How He Loves.

Amongst the many, many things I love about Third Format, one of the biggest ones is the worship. And no, its not because my boyfriend is the amazingly hot and talented drummer ;) But because I feel like they are always on the cutting edge of worship music. Jared, Richard and Jason do a great job of finding new worship songs that are just amazing. I also love when they do special songs like turning a secular song into an amazing connection to the message. (Examples; You Found Me by The Fray, If It Means Alot To You by A Day to Remember, The Places You've Come to Fear the Most by Dashboard Confessional, We Are Broken by Paramore and more.)
Anyways, this past weekend we sang a song called How He Loves written by John Mark McMillan. We've sang it once or twice before and everytime I'm like "Yes! I love this song!" This song just has a way of making you think of God's love differently. In ways I know I have never thought of before.
Some of my favorite lines are "Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy," "If His grace is an ocean we’re all sinking" "And heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss"
I just love the way he draws a picture of the vastness and intensity of God's love for us really is. It's humbling to know that the creator of the whole entire universe loves me with that immensity.

The lyrics are:

He is jealous for me
Loves like a hurricane,
I am a tree Bending beneath the weight
Of His wind and mercy
All of a sudden I am unaware of
These afflictions eclipsed by glory
And I realize just how beautiful You are
And how great Your affections are for me

Oh, how He loves us so
Oh, how He loves us
How He loves us so
Yeah He loves us

We are His portion and He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If His grace is an ocean we’re all sinking
And heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets When I think about the way

That He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves us
Oh how He loves.
